Essence Thomas, is a passionate advocate for youth impacted by the foster care system in Gainesville, Florida. After experiencing the challenges of foster care, she is dedicated to mentoring unaccompanied youth and assisting them in transitioning to college. With a BFA in Dance and currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work and Public Health, Essence uses the arts to empower individuals facing trauma. She collaborates with organizations like the University of Florida Center for Arts in Medicine to create healing opportunities and advocate for underserved communities, ensuring that every young person has the resources and support they deserve.
