Celeste is a dedicated advocate for youth in foster care, inspired by her own experiences in the San Francisco Bay Area’s child welfare system. After facing multiple placements and attending over twelve schools, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, motivated by her childhood physician, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris. Celeste founded the first Youth Advisory Board at Seneca Family of Agencies and served on the planning committee for the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission. Now a Permanency and Youth Engagement Advisor for the California Alliance of Children and Family Services, she aims to pursue a master’s degree to enhance her advocacy work.
