She/Her

5 years in care

Angel Boisclair is a  social work student at the University of Alabama who entered foster care at 14. Throughout her five years in care, she experienced 11 different placements, ultimately aging out. Despite these challenges, Angel has channeled her experiences into advocacy, participating in her state’s leadership program for foster youth and now working full-time as a Youth Consultant for the Independent Living Program at Children's Aid Society of Alabama. She actively volunteers at summer camps, mentors foster youth, and advocates for policies that support trafficking victims and improve accessibility for youth in foster care. Angel's future plans include obtaining a Master’s in Social Work and a Juris Doctorate to focus on foster care advocacy and policy, aiming to raise awareness about the systemic issues faced by youth in care. Her motto, "You go through what you go through to teach others," reflects her commitment to empowering those who have experienced similar struggles.
