Violeta is a dedicated advocate and aspiring social worker originally from Cajola, Guatemala. After immigrating to the U.S. at 16, she spent 300 days in a Texas detention center and then six months in Oregon before entering foster care, where she thrived and completed her education. Currently studying social work at university, Violeta is committed to improving the foster care system and providing support to marginalized communities. Her experiences as a caregiver and volunteer in citizenship classes have shaped her passion for helping others, and she believes in the transformative power of social work to uplift individuals and families.
