Dallas, Texas
Hi! I’m Sarah Aguirre. I live just north of Dallas with my husband and children. I love crocheting blankets, amigurumi toys, and bags. I’m passionate about researching my family history, especially uncovering stories about my indigenous ancestors—a challenging but rewarding pursuit. This might surprise you, but I have six kids ranging from ages nine to 26, plus a nearly two-year-old grandson and another on the way! I have a deep obsession with history and could spend hours engrossed in long documentaries or books on any historical topic.
I became interested in this work because, despite spending part of my childhood in foster care in Oklahoma, I felt isolated and didn’t know anyone else with a similar experience. It’s important to me that others don’t feel alone like I did. I feel proud when I know I’ve created or contributed to something that has significant meaning for someone else. Through my role at FosterClub, I hope to turn my experiences—both good and bad—into a resource for others, just as others have done for me.
