Hailey Loyd, 18, Texas’s Foster Care System
Hailey has been in foster care for 7 years now. She experienced 6 foster homes. One of the most difficult challenges she faced was explaining to her younger siblings why they were in foster care.
Hailey is on the Youth Leadership Council (YLC) - DFPS. She is a part of the Humanitarian Society at school. She gives back to her community by helping the elderly, feeding the homeless and visiting the children’s cancer center; where she prays with them and brings gifts.
Her goals are to complete high school, continue on to Texas community college, and then transfer to the University of North Texas to pursue a degree in social work and or psychology. She wants to be a youth specialist.
