Francisco Zamago

He/Him/His

23 Years Old

Texas Foster Care System

Francisco entered the Foster Care system at age 14. He is now attending the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley in pursuit of a Master’s in Educational Leadership. He also works at his University as a graduate assistant for the Office of Advocacy and Violence Prevention. He also raises awareness of the struggles that many foster youth face. When life is really tough, Francisco always tries to see the brighter side of life.

Before the Pandemic, Francisco Volunteered at his local Boys and Girls club to mentor youth. Francisco’s goal is to earn a Master’s in Educational leadership then go onto to earn a PhD in Educational Leadership. The advice Francisco would give to a young person in foster care is to know there is support available, whether it be from friends or case workers, there is always someone on your side.
