Hi! I’m Ashlee Kauffunger, but you can call me Double E. I live on the Oregon Coast and enjoy golfing, surfing with my husband, picking berries, exploring nature, and writing poetry. I also love quoting movies and songs. I'm big on quality time with my friends and family. It may come as a surprise that I am an aunt to 27 nieces and nephews.

My interest in FosterClub comes from my own lived foster care experience. This has always drawn me towards working with people, spreading joy, inspiration, laughs, and support. I knew I wanted to spend my life in meaningful work that impacts people’s lives for the better. The best part of working at FosterClub for me is when I see our LEx Leaders own their experiences, break free from stigma and shame, and embrace their power by sharing their stories to inspire others, enact change, and attain overall success and growth in their lives. It is a beautiful thing to see a person step into the uncomfortable and blossom. It inspires me every day to challenge myself and be better.

“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, but we can always shuffle the deck.”

Ashlee has worked for 10 years in the non-profit sector of child welfare. Through her work at FosterClub, Ashlee hopes to continue the mission of ensuring young people from foster care have a voice, support, community, encouragement, and opportunities to be successful and confident humans.
