At the age of 16 Roshii was placed into care by entering a residential treatment facility. After 18 months, she was moved to a residential child care facility that provides an emphasis on independent living. She plans to move into her own apartment in the next six months prior to her emancipation.
Roshii currently serves on 4 different boards that focus on improving the foster care system. She uses her positions on these boards to advocate for herself and others, something she learned to do despite her foster care experience. “A consistent challenge I’ve faced has been dealing with adults who do not want to have honest conversations.”
She has many interests and hobbies, including playing sports and writing stories and poetry. Roshii also enjoys researching and learning about laws that can help improve the system and increase her ability to serve on her various boards
