Rachel Muir entered care in New York’s child welfare system at 13 years of age.

 

Through her time in the system, she underwent various challenging changes and experiences. Rachel currently attends Northwestern University where she studies Social Policy and Statistics.

 

With her intense passion and dedication to helping underprivileged and underserved youth, Rachel has been able to achieve many accomplishments including the Horatio Alger National Scholar award, the Dream Award, and the Newman Civic Fellowship.

 

She is currently working as the Outreach Coordinator for the Uniting Pride Center of Champaign County, a community-based organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for the local Queer community.

 

Through all of her work and personal endeavors, Rachel strives to create a transformative change for children and to live a life of service, justice, and love.
