Nichole was born and raised in Michigan. She entered the foster care system at age 12. Seven years and seven different placements later Nichole is on her way to independence. Nichole did experience neglect and abuse in her life, but she has decided to turn her negative experiences into something positive. She now uses her life experience in foster care to advocate for “youth in care”. Currently Nichole is a recipient of the John Seita scholarship at Western Michigan University where she hopes to obtain a Bachelors of Social Work. Ultimately, she would like to have the opportunity to help youth in foster care transition out of care successfully.
