Myla Garcia grew up as the daughter of Filipino immigrants in Delano, CA. Despite entering foster care at the age of 13 with her younger brother, Myla has pursued higher education and is a first-generation college and law school graduate. Myla graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in English. In 2022, Myla graduated from Penn State Dickinson Law with a Juris Doctor degree and now works as an attorney as a public defender in Indiana. In addition to being an attorney, Myla works in child welfare policy at the state and national level as part of various organizations. In her free time, Myla enjoys lifting weights, playing video games, and reading.
