Michael entered care in Michigan at age 11, after a failed adoption. He is still in care, and has experienced both family placements and congregate care.

Michael has risen above these obstacles and has joined the high school track and field team,  participates in volunteer projects through the Michigan Youth Opportunity Initiative, and has been a young Marine.

He is looking forward to going on to college and hopes to become an engineer. He also wants to adopt children someday.

“The reason why I give back is because a lot of people in my life have done a lot for me so I can be successful. So I feel like I should give back in some type way.”
