Manilan Houle entered care, in 2005 until he “aged out” eight years later, in the state of Minnesota.

Manilan was the first of his family to graduate high school and was offered a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota.

Manilan aided Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota build the Center for Changing Lives; a center which houses all of their youth services. He continues to forge ahead in his advocacy work with RESULTS: an anti-poverty organization based in Washington D.C. where he participates in the Experts on Poverty cohort.

Manilan plans on going back to school to further his education. He plans to continue to support and engage his community through advocating for youth in care.
