Manilan Houle grew up in Duluth, Minnesota.
An enrolled member of Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Manilan is also a product of the Foster Care System. After graduating High School in 2012 Manilan jumped into political activism fighting for issues like Marriage Equality and Indigenous Rights at the Municipal, State, and Federal Levels. His political activism has led to a career in electoral politics.
He has helped lead political outreach efforts for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee as their Progressive Outreach Director. Most recently, Manilan served as the Assistant Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League. There he oversaw a 9 state regional response to hate crimes, coordinated and executed legislative strategies, and strategized national partnerships with the office of the CEO.
