Lupe spent 2 years in Oregon's foster care system.

Lupe has been in care for 2 years. Although she has had mixed feeling about it, she has taken advantage of the opportunities it has given her. She serves as a Junior Leader for her local 4-H club where she has learned leadership, speaking, and demonstration. She works with Oregon Foster Youth Connections (OFYC) as a Chapter Lead intern. Currently, Lupe is also involved in DHS's Foster Youth Advisory Committee with the Director of DHS Child Welfare . She plans to attend Western Oregon University for a Bachelors of Science with a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology and a minor in Political Science. After college, Lupe plans on becoming a probation officer, in hopes to open her own program for troubled youth who need more than just resources.
Quote: I see potential in every youth and if I can help make a difference then that brings me my true happiness. Every youth deserves a chance.
