Jamarri K

He/Him/His

22 Years Old

Washington D.C.

“Sure I'm only one person, but I now understand that the foster youth of D.C. look up to me in a way, and that I have to continue being their torch in the darkness until we meet others walking the same path to illuminate the way forward for us all.”

Jamarri has been selected for an internship program with the Congressional Coalition of Adoption Institute on Capitol Hill, where he hopes to help amend the Family First Prevention Services Act. He has also volunteered on NCCF panels to act as a liaison between foster youth and foster parents, and served as a 2021 FosterClub AllStar.

Last year, Jamarri received the Right Direction Award from Attorney General Karl Racine for his resilience and dedication to advocacy work for youth in Washington, D.C.

Basketball is Jamarri’s favorite sport; he’s a devout Philadelhpia 76ers fan. He also enjoys making music and playing video games.
