Jade Vollner has spent just over a year in Oregon’s child welfare system.

Jade entered care at fourteen and experienced 2 foster home placements. She has two siblings with whom she enjoys spending her free time with. Jade enjoys singing, hiking, and coloring. She is an accomplished athlete, representing her high school at the state level with both the girls and boys wrestling teams.

Her plans include attending Southwestern Community College for two years and then plans to transfer over to Portland State University, where she will earn her bachelor’s degree in social work in hopes to become a caseworker one day.

Jade wants to be an inspiration to people; someone for them to look up to and say, because of you I didn’t give up. She understands there were times when she wanted to give up, but because of the supportive people in her life, she continues to fight and not give up. They have shown her that life is worth so much more than she believes it to be.
