Heater spent 5 years in Conneticut's foster care system.

Brief Biography: Although Heather now lives independently, she has been in the foster care system for five years and has lived in five different placements. Heather is attending school in her home state of Connecticut to become a licensed paramedic. Her future career goal is to work for Life Star Emergency Services. Heather is co-chairman of her local youth advisory board and a member of the New England Youth Coalition. Heather is a student, an animal lover, music fiend, an Ed Hardy enthusiast… and a foster kid.

Future aspirations: One of Heather's future career aspiration is to work for Life Star Emergency Services. She also plans to go back to college to earn a BSW and pursue a career in social work or as a staff member in a group home for older youth. Heather would like to continue working with the NEYC as well as her local youth advisory board to create a positive change in the foster care system nationwide.
