Gabriella M

She/Her/Hers

25 Years Old

Michigan

“I can help advocate for change by continuing to be an ambassador, going to speaking engagements and local campaigns to help advocate for former and current foster youth.”

Gabriella is the co-chair of a youth leadership ambassador board in her community, where she helps young people to learn how to effectively use their voices for change. She is also a peer support specialist, a co-facilitator for a mutual aid women’s group, and the Chairperson for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at her place of work.

Gabriella intends to complete her Master’s degree in Social Work, with a concentration in legislation and policy. She wants to create and govern laws that improve the lives of all people who are less fortunate, starting with young people in foster care.

Most importantly, Gabriella wants to advocate for better support for all young people who experience foster care, regardless of whether they aged out of the system or were reunited with their families while young. She wants all young people to have more equitable access to education.
