Peer Navigator First Moon is part of the Karuk tribe in Northern California and was in foster care for 7 years. She lives in Forest Grove OR, and loves being in the sun! One surprising thing about Moon is that she doesn't watch TV, but has music playing 24/7. She loves to sing during every activity. In my spare time she enjoys hiking, camping, and crafting.
Moon became interested in this work when she first attended college as she realized just how many social, financial and transitional resources there are for foster youth that many people don’t know about.
Through her role as a peer navigator she hopes to connect and facilitate the building of meaningful interpersonal relationships that help youth succeed as they enter adulthood.
