Delaina Smith was placed in foster care in Mississippi at the age of fourteen, and is being adopted this year.
She is the former lead attorney and team captain for her high school’s mock trial competition team. Delaina led her team to the 2018 Mississippi Mock Trial State Competition, where they placed 6th overall.
Delaina was personally scored as the Second Most Effective Student Attorney in the state of Mississippi. In addition to this she completed a year-long internship in the law office of Senator Brice Wiggins. Delaina teaches Children’s Church every other Sunday for her church, and she has been accepted into Mississippi College where she will be attending in the fall of 2018.
Delaina will be majoring in Political Science with a pre-law emphasis.
Delaina’s goal is to become a lawyer, potentially to work in business.
