Davonna spent 10 years in California's foster care system.

Davonna was born and raised in Pomona, CA with her three sisters and twin brother. At birth, she and her siblings were placed in the kinship program, which resulted in her grandmother gaining legal guardianship of Davonna at age 10 until age 18. Davonna attended and graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. After graduation, she began work as a counselor in a group home setting which largely inspired her to want to change the group home experience and provide better educational services for youth in the foster care system. During her free time, Davonna likes to read, play video games, spend time with her family and volunteer. Davonna volunteers with United Friends of the Children and participated in their College within Reach where she shares her foster care and educational experiences to inspire other foster youth. Davonna plans to attend graduate school to obtain a Master of Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapist license and to start a nonprofit that would assist youth with resources for educational services.
