7 years in care
Cinthia is a resilient young leader who came to the United States at 14 seeking better educational opportunities. She entered foster care at 16 and aged out at 21, navigating challenges including language barriers, unstable housing, and financial hardship. Despite this, she remained determined, graduating from Avon High School and becoming a first-generation college student pursuing a degree in Spanish, with plans to earn a Master’s in Social Work.
Cinthia serves as a LEAD Ambassador at Foster Success, advocating for youth with lived experience and working to drive system change. She actively engages in initiatives with FosterClub and Foster Success, building community and supporting advocacy efforts. In recognition of her impact, she was named Outstanding Youth Advocate of 2024.
She is committed to being a voice for those without one, using her experiences to improve the foster care system and ensure future youth have greater opportunities and support.
