Spent 4 years in Tennessee's foster care system

After 4 years in Tennessee’s foster system, Brandon began attending Union University as a social work major in the hopes to soon earn his Master’s in social work. He volunteers for Social Work Reaches Out as his class representative. On campus, Brandon assists students in registering to vote in local elections. He serves as a Peer Advocate under the Tennessee Supreme Court mediating between the Foster Care Review Board; in this role, Brandon works to elevate the youth’s voice and ensure desired outcomes for all involved. Brandon is working towards not only a brighter future for himself, but also for the futures of youth in the system and others who cannot yet help themselves
