Blanca Merced went through seven placements within the Rhode Island foster care system. Blanca has volunteered in her community and was able to help with holiday toy distributions and sent out holiday cards out to deployed troops. Additionally, Blanca has been an advocate for The Voice, Rhode Island’s Youth Leadership, and Advocacy Board, and has helped to train foster parents in understanding the Prudent Parenting Standard.  In the near future Blanca, a full-time mom, will be getting married and she hopes to become a foster parent. She looks to inspire foster youth by sharing her experiences.
