Anny Anderson spent 6 years in Nevada's foster care system

Anny spent six years in Nevada’s system and has overcome many long and painful challenges, including abuse, at a young age and wants to celebrate her victory by helping other young people that have experienced similar circumstances. She is described as having a big heart, charisma and optimism. She currently volunteers with Urban Surf 4 Kids, an organization focused on providing water-based events for foster children and orphaned youth, where she leads them into finding opportunities that facilitate change by volunteering with different organizations within their local communities. She has also worked with Operation Head 2 Toe, which provides foster youth with hands on experience working with professionals in the fashion industry. She is no stranger to public speaking and has presented her story in Nevada and California to policy makers to promote awareness about the challenges that foster and at-risk youth face, both in and after care.

Anny plans to get a law degree and to continue to work with foster and at-risk youth.
