Angelica spent 5.5 years in North Carolina's foster care system
She entered care at the age of 9 years old. She is a high school student and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average. Her aim is to attend college and graduate school to earn her Master's in OB/GYN. This young lady is natural born advocate and leader! She is active in leadership for the Strong Able Youth Speaking Out Board in North Carolina. She is also involved in a National organization called Health Occupational Students Association, which has a program for leadership development and recognition for those in health & science education; Or who have interest in the health profession. Angelica participates in I Am My Sister, which is a non-profit organization established to build leadership skills, self-esteem and a sense of community in teen girls. She is also involved in Discover You! An interactive health and wellness center. Angelica has worked to overcome health issues and displays tenacity, wit and grace in all she does.
