Amanda entered foster care before her first birthday and was placed with her grandmother. She spent 18 years in the foster care system in California. Amanda enjoys volunteering and participates in several activities at her local church. She leads two clubs on her college campus. Amanda is pursuing a dual-associates degree at Solano Community College and hopes to earn a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary studies (Social Work, Psychology and Sociology) after transferring to San Diego State University. Amanda believes that her life experiences make it easier to encourage others who are facing difficult journeys in life. She enjoys expressing herself creatively through singing, painting and decorating and finds strength in her faith.
