Alison Myers

Alison Myers was 13 years old when she entered care and she had subsequent experiences with foster home placements, kinship care, and shelter placements. Alison is currently a junior at Illinois State University, where she is part of the Student Advisory Council for the School of Social Work and working on establishing a support group for foster students. Alison has also represented Together We Rise and has participated in a panel at College Changes Everything Conference with Foster Progress. Alison will be interning for the Congressional Coalition of Adoption Institution in Washington DC this summer and plans on obtaining her master’s degree in social work with a focus on social administration in the future.
