Rhode Island: Child Advocate

About this resource

The Office of the Child Advocate (OCA) is a team that looks out for the rights of kids and teens in Rhode Island’s care system. They make sure young people in foster care are treated fairly and have what they need—like the right placement, healthcare, education, and to be treated with respect.

They’re independent from other state agencies, and they can check in on how things are going by reviewing records and speaking up for youth when something’s not right.
