Pennsylvania: Medicaid Health Insurance

About this resource

Medicaid is state health insurance that is available to low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults, people with disabilities, and foster youth or former foster youth who are eligible. Health Care FFY or Cover until 26 is the name of the specific healthcare under Medicaid for young adults who aged out of foster care on or after their 18th birthday. See healthcareffy.org for more information.

Eligibility

  • The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires states to provide young adults under 26 with free health care if they were in foster care at age 18 or older. This ensures that former foster youth can access the health care services they need. Click here to see your eligibility and three different ways you can apply for Medicaid.
