In Transit

Hazzah. I have been so busy that I have not been able to blog recently. Perhaps I have been too busy enjoying the small things that I am fortunate enough to come my way.

So, because I am in a rush to enjoy the sunshine in Idaho, I am going to go over a quick recap of what I have done in the past few days.

Friday a group of us went kayaking and canoeing on the Lewis and Clark River, which was so entertaining. Michele was my kayak partner and we had such a relaxing time. Kayaking is one of my favorite activities and I am glad that I had the opportunity to share it with some of my fellow All-Stars. I think we were a little more loud than the tour guide had envisioned us to be or had prepared for, but I hope she enjoyed our boisterous company. No one tipped, thus it was a success.

That night, we bid our farewells to Marcus for a week and I went on a jog that left me a little more appreciative of my knees.

Saturday was a relaxed day. I went down to the estuary and spent some time pondering upon some of the recent events in my life and watched the massive volleyball tournament from afar. (I have great discomfort being in crowds of people. I do not know how I developed this, because I used to love to go to huge music festivals... not so much now) Kate Lynn and I got the news to pack up and we headed to Portland with Celeste to drop of Marcus at the airport, and we were lucky enough to meet Momma D. We spent the night at her house and had some great food and conversation. (Some of the stories I heard, I really took to heart and will hopefully have my own version of someday.)

Later than anticipated, but well worth the stall, we headed on the road trip to Idaho. Celeste showed us some amazing things along the way like Multanomah Falls (where I plan to set up a hobbit hole home someday), the Columbia River Gorge (totally worth checking out if just for the scenery), and Hood River and its many many many wind surfers and tofurkey. Wind surfers must be in tremendous shape from the looks of the sport. Road trips are always nice bonding experiences. I love hearing stories, I feel like that is the best way to get to know someone's quirks and mild attributes. Oh, and I never knew that Oregon had a desert.. what?!?

Alas, we arrived in Idaho and we are now awaiting our trip to the Idaho Children's Village. Although I have not seen a potato yet, I am on the look-out. Yes, I know, potatoes are in the ground, but I would be able to see the potato plant, which has evaded me up to this point.
