Cornell Students Raise $10,000 for Foster Youth at Annual Gala
Members of Alpha Xi Delta’s Alpha Beta Chapter at Cornell University recently hosted their annual Rose Gala, raising $10,000 in support of FosterClub through the sorority’s Kindly Hearts Initiative.
The Rose Gala is an annual formal event held in partnership with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, bringing students and community members together for an evening centered on connection, purpose, and philanthropy. Guests attended in formal attire for a night dedicated to raising funds and awareness for youth experiencing foster care.
This year’s event took place on April 18 at Grace and Gratitude, drawing strong support from the Cornell community. Through ticket sales and additional donations, the chapter raised $10,000 to help support programs and resources for young people in foster care.
FosterClub's Operations Coordinator, Bianca Bennett-Scott, a Cornell University alumna, attended the event as a guest speaker, sharing insight into the realities faced by youth in foster care and the importance of community advocacy and support.
"It was beautiful to see Cornell students and their families come together to enjoy such a meaningful night in support of a powerful cause. On behalf of the FosterClub team, I also want to give a huge shout-out to the Vice President of Philanthropy, Rebecca Ryan, for all her hard work and coordination towards this year’s event.”
Events like the Rose Gala highlight the meaningful ways Alpha Xi Delta members show up for youth in foster care—not only through fundraising, but by building awareness and fostering a sense of community around this work. Their efforts are part of a broader national partnership between Alpha Xi Delta and FosterClub, which has raised over $350,000 to date in support of young people in and from care.
FosterClub is grateful to the members of Alpha Xi Delta at Cornell University, along with their partners in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, for their leadership, generosity, and ongoing commitment to supporting youth in foster care.
