While in the foster care system, Triana lived in 5 different placements. She is in the process of being adopted by her current foster family, with whom she has been living with for 6 years. Triana will be entering her second year at Houghton College this fall, where she is studying biochemistry and hopes to one day become a teacher. She loves to play tennis in her spare time as well as perform in theatre productions. Triana volunteers at a hospice house, with her church’s children’s ministry and youth group, and mentors local foster youth. Volunteering and helping others is something that Triana believes will make her a better person, and something where she believes she can use her own difficult story to help and inspire others.
