21 Years Old

Pennsylvania

“While I have struggled greatly, I do not let my past define me. I am so much more than what has happened to me. I am resilient, inspiring, conscientious, and have inherent leadership qualities. I have finally grown to recognize my own potential and I fully intend to reach it.”

Emma has dedicated herself to advocating for kids in the foster care system, especially teens and young adults who are aging out. She is an active member of the Pennsylvania Youth Advisory Board, and uses her social media platforms to share her story.

Emma is currently working on her Bachelor’s degree. Once she graduates, Emma hopes to become a caseworker in the child welfare field so she can use her experience to help other children. She is proud to have defied statistics, and one day hopes to start her own nonprofit that will help transition-age youth as they age out of foster care.
