Brittanie is currently enrolled in an accounting program at the University of Phoenix. She entered foster care when she was in eighth grade and experienced a number of challenges. One of the biggest challenges Brittanie faced was adjusting from being the parent figure of her younger sisters to being the big sister. In high school she was active in a number of Leadership roles including the National Honor Society, Yearbook, Cross Country, Mock Trial, and Student Council. Brittanie has also interned with her Representative Steve King; she received the Governor’s Volunteer Award for mentoring two elementary students while she was in high school. Brittanie’s longer term career goals are to serve on the administrative side of foster care, particularly in accounting and become a foster parent herself. Brittanie enjoys helping children, photography, and playing the oboe and clarinet.
