The End or the Beginning

Today I leave for our great capital, D.C. I leave right after I the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth. I cannot tell you how amazing this is going to be but at the same time sad. I feel like I am leaving my new family that has formed over the past 2 months.

I know that I will see some of them again but it still is hard to process everything we have done. When we sat down and wrote out what we all have been involved in, it truly is magestic to see how we have interacted with the youth, with each other, and how we have all grown to be great advocates.

We have had some great times in the clubhouse but as all things go, it must come to an end. I can only hope that what we have told the young adults we have met this summer and that the connections we have made will never end. I will say that it has been hard at times but when everything is done I know this has been one of the best experinces of my life. And to the All-Stars: THANK YOU! I know that this does not justify truly how I feel.

I have learned so much about myself, people, and you all have had a hand in helping me to grow and develope as a person and for that I thank you. I hope that one day we all can gather together again. I know that the 10nacious 10 All-Star class is comprised of some of the most powerful and world altering people ever. Some of you will run international companies, start your own company, start a family, be politicians, actresses, and will always be highly respected by me for overcoming statistics and not letting the foster care system to difine who you are.

Thank you for the greatest summer that I have ever had. Marcus Brown 2010 Michigan All-Star
