After spending years in the foster care system, Jennifer was reunited with her biological mother at the age of 17. Prior to that, she had not lived with her mother since the age of 5. As a result of her background Jennifer has decided to dedicate much of her time to improving the foster care system, and hopes one day to become a children's lawyer specifically representing foster youth. The long-time thespian and speech and debate guru has been in numerous theatre productions and has competed in several debate competitions. She is hopeful that she will be able to become a speech and debate coach while she is putting herself through law school. Jennifer has had the opportunity to work with the California Youth Connection. She has also interned for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, working in Senator Mary Landrieu's office. During her internship she was able to bring awareness of the foster care system to Congress.
