Lupe has over 15+ years’ experience within the child welfare field. Prior to her work at JBS International, she was a program development specialist and trainer at the National, Resource Center for Youth Development. From 2008 to 2011, Lupe worked at FosterClub as Director of Training Events.

Through support from national leadership organizations, Lupe participates in pushing for critical child welfare reforms on the federal level by pairing personal voice with policy to impact change. She has participated in Capitol Hill briefings and testified before multiple congressional committees. In 2015, the White House recognized her as a Champion of Change. She was awarded the Casey Family Programs Excellence for Children in 2018. One of her greatest passions is mentoring and coaching the current generation of rising leaders!

Lupe holds a BA (psychology) from Arizona State University. She was previously on the Foster Care Alumni of America board of directors (2007-2017) and is a 2005 FosterClub All-Star and an alumna of foster care.
