Transitions Retreat

FosterClub partnered with CMFCAA to present at their annual Transitions Retreat. Each year, 10 high school seniors (foster and adoptive youth) are matched with mentors. The program is designed to help youth complete high school, improve life skills, and pursue milestones with the help of a one-to-one mentor. The program makes for a successful transition into adulthood.

The Transitions Retreat offers students and mentors the chance to connect and learn more about different skills and resources. FosterClub All-Stars, TeAsia Henderson (2013) and Aviva Okeson (2015), delivered a Keynote Address discussing the transitions journey and how outside support can make your transition easier. TeAsia and Aviva also facilitated the Strategic Sharing workshop (they included a mock-panel and bio-writing for youth in attendance).
In addition to the workshop success, All-Stars also co-participated in the Edge High Ropes activity, and connected in small group evening activities.
