George White, Policy SpecialistWe are excited to announce the new hire of George Collins-White as FosterClub Policy Specialist! George is no stranger to FosterClub, advocacy or policy. In 2009, he was recognized for his leadership work and achievements as a foster youth receiving the Outstanding Young Leader award, and in 2014 became a California Youth Ambassador helping to transform the way policymakers, child welfare professionals and educators view and prioritize education for foster youth in the state of California.

Having spent 17 years in foster care in Los Angeles, California, George brings lived experience and in-depth knowledge of the child welfare system to the policy position. As Policy Specialist, George will be based in our Washington, D.C. office and will manage state and federal policy visits/programs aimed to engage young leaders in national child welfare policy.

Cool Fact about George: At 16 years old, he created the "All I did was turn 18" awareness campaign aimed at highlighting youth homelessness after aging out of foster care.
