The U.S. Department of Education, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and external stakeholders, is in the process of developing a Foster Care Transition Guide. The purpose of the transition guide is to inspire an improved rate at which foster youth continue on to post-secondary education and to prepare current and former foster youth for successful career and life trajectories.
Meeting purpose: The U.S. Department of Education will host two conference call opportunities for current and former foster youth and foster care alumni. During these calls the Department will discuss the guide and request input from current and former foster youth and foster care alumni on the content and types of resources that should be included within the guide.
The two calls are scheduled for:
- Call 1: Monday, April 11 from 4:30 – 5:30pm ET
- Call 2: Tuesday, April 12 from 11:00am – 12pm ET
