I am trying to get adopted, and everyone is telling me I am not a good fit for places, so why is it so hard for a foster youth to get adopted?

I just want to say don't give up hope. I was older before I got adopted. Plus I just read about a lady who was a former All-Star at FosterClub who got adopted when she was in her 30s. You are never too old to find your forever family :)

Hi,

I agree don't give up. You can also reach out and create permenance in your life with people who may not be prepared to adopt but ARE prepared to be there for you permenantly. This is on FosterClub's website. Check it out.

My husband's parents are my parents now-- so I have them as a family. There are many people like me who would like to foster/adopt older youth-- however, I am in college now, so I am usually studying or working. BORING PARENT alert! Getting involved in community events , sports, church, etc. can at least give you adults that will be supportive of you. I'm not sure how old you are, but sometimes there are others around you that need a family too. I trust that one day you will find your family.
