Great! Thanks. I was looking into housing as a priority because so many youths who've aged out has ended up being homeless. Looking at how we can curve homelessness.
Hi, Right now we have limited Independent Living Program info. New York State is very regionalized. Here is our local link to New York resources. https://www.fosterclub.com/resources?body_value=&field_resource_areas_served_tid=211
We have been waiting for info on a new website for services for New York. When I get them, I will post them. :)
What priority areas are you researching? Are you looking into housing?
Hi Kamilgerald. I also have been looking to help kids aging out of foster care that do no have support. Was wondering if you'd be willing to share any information you have gathered. As a foster alumni who aged out with no where to go, I understand the struggles and pitfalls of such a situation. Also, where in NY are you located?
Above is a link to the NYS Office of Children and Family Services website that has some valuable information for youth, parents/caretakers, and stakeholders. Although it is not specific to Housing services, it is a great starting place.
