Congressional Shadow Program

Congratulations! You have been selected to participate in 2016 Congressional Foster Youth Shadow Program!

In order to participate, you must complete this Registration Form. 

Registering for the Shadow Program will confirm your participation, allow the planning team to book your travel and accommodations, and arrange additional activities and outings during your visit to Washington D.C.. This registration form is secure, and the information you submit will be protected. However; if you are uncomfortable sending this information online, please contact us.

We will invite you to join a private Shadow Program group so that you can meet your fellow Shadows and get information about the event.
Reliable transportation that can get you to the airport at least 2 hours in advance of your departure flight.
Shadow Program participants are required to share rooms during their stay in Washington D.C. Special requests can be accommodated on a case by case basis.
In case of an emergency, please give us the name of someone we can contact. (This can be different form your supportive adult.)
You can use Google to find your time zone by entering your city, state, and "time zone" in the search bar.
All Shadow Experience participants must complete orientation before you travel to Washington DC. We will be utilizing the internet and telephone (via "GoToMeeting") to conduct orientation for the Shadow Experience. Please choose a time where you can be in a quiet area with access to the internet and phone. All of your Shadow Program questions will be addressed during orientation.

Your bio will be sent to the Member of Congress you are shadowing. Let us know important information you would want that Congressional Member to know about you.
A biography, including a picture of you, will be sent to your Member of Congress, the media and used on event websites. Please upload a professional-looking photo of yourself (NO SELFIES). In the picture you should be the only one present, in professional looking attire, have good lighting, and framed from your waist up. Pictures should be taken straight on and not at low or high angles or too close to your face.
