The girl on the left? That’s me, Maryana Stern. Who is the equally vertically challenged person on the right? His name is Marcus, and he is the Office and Logistics’ Administer. We seem super happy, right? Well, looks can be deceiving. Other than our short stature and overall adorableness, we also have a fear of heights in common, as you can tell from how tightly we're squeezing that log. I'm not going to lie, there was hysterical crying and screaming before and after this picture was taken (I wish I could say it was just Marcus). But seriously, imagine having to walk across a thin rope, high in the air with nothing to protect me, but what felt like an extremely unflattering rope diaper. While I was able to finally cross the rope, it was quite the challenge to convince me to walk back. Thankfully, with the help of Marcus (who seriously is one of the greatest people ever), Seth, and various other All-Stars, I was able to get back across. I also would like to thank myself. I spend so much time hating myself when I let challenges get the best of me that I never truly appreciate all that I overcame. But in the end, all a person can do is take that first step and try their best. Rome was not built in a day, and neither was that high ropes course. So pat yourself on the back and tell yourself, "Maryana thanks for trying even when fearing falling to your immediate death, and for only crying for forty-five minutes."
