Hey y'all! I wanted to share my experience with how I got involved with FosterClub and what my journey has been like so far. I first heard of FosterClub at the 2015 Texas Teen Conference that I spoke at. One of the previous All-Stars encouraged me to apply. After conducting my research on the organization I decided I would wait seven months until the applications opened and hope for the best!
My journey so far has been nothing less of amazing! Everyday as an All-Star is self-fulfilling, motivational and educational. The hardest part for me is feeling like I have another life that is on pause for seven weeks. I miss my dog like crazy! I find comfort in knowing that the tools/skills that I am currently learning will not only benefit me but thousands of other foster youth that I will come across. My favorite part of this journey is knowing that I made an impact on at least one foster youths life at the Oklahoma and Oregon Teen Conference. There have been instances where I have felt out of my comfort zone, some workshops have been harder than others but this internship is by far one of the most eye-opening experiences I have faced.
