Meghan came into foster care in 2006 due to abuse and her mother's drug usage. None of her family members have provided a home for Meghan, though they have taken in her siblings. She had to testify in a trial against her father. Despite her circumstances, Meghan’s service and leadership experience is impressive. She has been involved in FCA, FCCLA, Red Cross, Boys and Girls Club, Leadership 101, Special Olympics, CPS, and CASA events. She has given speeches to recruit CASA workers, and is currently advocating for adoption for foster children through a project in her FCCLA class. She will graduate high school in June. She is dedicated to helping others and has plans to be a social worker. Through all of her hard times she keeps a smile on her face and helps others.
