DiAndre spent 10 years in Pennsylvania's foster care system and experienced 6 different foster homes. The oldest of four, DiAndre was ten when he and his siblings were first put into the system. "I was the oldest and our placement was a new and frightening experience for all of us."

"During the past year I was a Peer Educator with Planned Parenthood at the Achieving Independence Center. As a Peer Educator I was given the opportunity to teach Healthy Relationship classes to members at the Achieving Independence Center. I also participate as a Peer Mentor with the Achieving Independence Center Mentoring Program. As a Peer Mentor I mentor younger youth, ages 12-17, who are in foster care. I am also a member of the Executive Board of the Philadelphia County Youth Advisory Board and have assisted in the planning and facilitation of our meetings. In addition, I participate in the Independent Living Youth Retreat Committee developing and planning activities for the upcoming annual retreat."

DiAndre enjoys watching and playing in sports and writing poetry.
