Alyssa Aragon found permanency at age 10 during her time in California’s foster system.
Alyssa attended Gilroy Early College Academy during high school and graduated high school with her associate’s degree, and then graduated California State University, in Sacramento with her bachelors in Business Administration.
While in college, Alyssa joined one of the largest co-ed professional business fraternities in the nation called Delta Sigma Pi and became president by her senior year of college. Alyssa has provided a former foster youth’s perspective in a workshop at the TAY Conference hosted by The California Department of Social Services and The Child and Family Policy Institute of California that are open to previous and current foster youth and any professional working with foster youth.
Alyssa is working full time with Stanford Youth Solutions as a Youth Advocate for youth on probation and youth in foster care. Alyssa is a part of the Youth Advocates Committee in Sacramento County that addresses concerns and solutions within organizations and our community. In the future, Alyssa wants to open non-profits and social enterprises that benefit the community.
